Dynamo Moscow edged out Krasnodar 2-1 in the home match of Matchday 29 of the Russian Premier League. Just a week earlier, the blue-and-whites had fallen to the reigning champions on penalties in the Russian Cup Path RPL final, with Tyukavin misfiring his own spot-kick.
“From a sporting, man-to-man perspective, I wanted revenge,” Tyukavin said. “But I’d swap this goal for my penalty goal. If you ask the whole team, they’d trade this victory for the win in Krasnodar in the Cup as well. The game went well for us. After the first goal, you could see Krasnodar were already tired, so we kept pressing. Ivan [Sergeev] did great — he scored on his birthday.”
When asked about Zenit fans thanking him for bringing their team closer to the title, Tyukavin replied: “You’re welcome. What else can I say? Today we fought for Gusev, for ourselves, and for the club.”
