The Ligue 1+ channel confirmed on Tuesday, May 12, that it has secured exclusive broadcasting rights for Ligue 3, the new professional league launched by the French Football Federation.
The championship is set to kick off on August 8, 2026. All 309 matches—including the regular season and playoffs—will be broadcast live and exclusively on Ligue 1+. No other channel will hold any rights to the competition. A fixed weekly schedule has been established: a marquee matchup will air on Thursday evenings at 8:45 p.m., deliberately avoiding overlap with Ligue 1 or Ligue 2 fixtures.
Ligue 1+ will deliver 25 hours of live coverage per week, with the remaining eight matches bundled into a Saturday 3 p.m. multiplex, each game assigned its own dedicated broadcast channel. The technical setup marks a significant upgrade from the current National division, which has been filmed with only a single camera. The Thursday night showcase will employ five cameras, while other matches will be produced with two cameras.
On the editorial side, Ligue 1+ has committed to producing approximately 25 hours of live programming per week dedicated to Ligue 3. A dedicated segment featuring all the day’s goals will be integrated into the weekly Ligue 1 magazine every Saturday evening. This development comes as welcome news for fans of French football.
