The Pittsburgh Penguins have not initiated contract extension negotiations with forward Anthony Manta, according to insider Elliott Friedman on the “32 Thoughts” podcast. Manta, who signed a one-year deal with a $2.5 million cap hit in July 2025, emerged as the team’s top goal scorer during the regular season, recording 33 goals and 31 assists for 64 points with a plus‑10 rating in 81 games. In the Stanley Cup playoffs, the 31‑year‑old managed just one assist and a minus‑5 rating in six contests.
