Russian tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova failed to advance to the third round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome, falling to 38-year-old German Laura Siegemund in a three-set battle. The 31-year-old Russian, seeded 14th and ranked 46th in the world, lost 4:6, 7:6 (7:4), 1:6.
