FC Barcelona have been crowned champions of LaLiga for the 2025-26 season. Once again, Hansi Flick’s side proved to be the most consistent team in Spanish football, sealing the title with a victory over Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou.

The celebration of Barcelona’s 29th league title will be unique. One of the main reasons is the traditional gathering spot for the fans: Canaletes. The iconic fountain on La Rambla, where thousands usually meet, is currently closed due to city roadworks. This is not a temporary issue, as access to the usual venue is blocked, preventing fans from celebrating together there.

In response, the Barcelona City Council has urged fans not to head to Canaletes for the title celebrations. Sports councillor David Escudé stated, “The Urban Guard is working on security measures, and we will obviously need to speak with the club to find an alternative.” He added that “the final decision rests with the security forces.”

Barcelona will have to change its usual title celebration location for this league win.

Several alternatives have been considered, with the most likely option being to gather fans at Plaça Catalunya, just a short distance from the Canaletes fountain. This spacious area can accommodate large crowds without difficulty, and it offers multiple exits to manage any unexpected congestion.

The security forces aim to ensure the safety of all fans present, which means fans should avoid going to Canaletes this Sunday. The preventive plan coordinated by the Urban Guard and the Mossos d’Esquadra will guide supporters toward Plaça Catalunya, where the party is expected to continue well into the early hours to celebrate Barcelona’s second consecutive league title, secured against Kylian Mbappé’s Real Madrid.

The festivities will not stop on Sunday. On Monday, May 11, unless there is a major surprise, FC Barcelona will hold an open-top bus parade through the city, starting at 17:00 CEST. It will be a special moment for the club, with the bus route passing through Barcelona’s main streets and ending at the Spotify Camp Nou.
